Why Complete the EcoVadis Assessment?

For SMEs, this assessment is a sustainability score and a strategic tool for enhancing business practices. It will help you align with global standards, increase your competitiveness, and enhance your customers' confidence in your sustainability practices, solidifying your market position.

For larger entities, the assessment aligns with upcoming EU CSRD/CSDDD laws' standards and exceeds upcoming U.S. and Canadian sustainability reporting standards—priming your organization for streamlined reporting throughout its supply chain.

The four major reasons driving companies to complete the EcoVadis assessment are:

REGULATORY CHANGESThe number of supply chain due diligence laws has more than doubled. Upcoming regulations may also govern ESG rating agencies (BSR). These include the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which mandate greater transparency in corporate operations. Even if you are not operating in the EU, your customer may be.

GREENWASHING RISKS68% of executives believe their company is guilty of greenwashing (Fast Company). 2,000+ climate-related lawsuits have been filed to-date globally.

INVESTOR PRESSURESESG assets will be over 1/3 of total AUM by 2025 (Bloomberg). 2/3 of investors don’t think companies are disclosing high quality ESG data (PWC ESG Survey).

CONSUMER PRESSURES64% of consumers are willing to pay more for responsibly-produced products (Ipsos). Consumers want organizations to step up and show proof of their eco pledges (Euromonitor International).
